Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Manalac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthew Manalac could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Carl Mason's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Manalac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Mason! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Manalac tries to avoid it but Mason manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Manalac to the ground. Manalac escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mason fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mason looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Matthew Manalac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Mason. Manalac throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Manalac moves into the clinch successfully.
Manalac lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mason backwards. Mason tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Mason looks winded! Mason can't break the clinch.

Manalac is trying to force a seperation but Mason has the dominant position. Mason can't get the takedown.
Manalac wants to break the clinch but can't.
Manalac scores with a shot to the side of Mason's head. Mason is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Manalac pulls him back up using the underhooks. Manalac lands with a light punch inside. Mason wants to take the fight to the mat but Manalac manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Manalac gets through Mason's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Nice body punch from Manalac - that landed with a thud.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Manalac lands a hook that snaps the head of Mason backwards. Manalac wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manalac is looking to break free of the clinch but Mason has double underhooks. Manalac lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mason is rocked! Manalac escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can Manalac finish him? Manalac has Mason up against the cage in a clinch.
Manalac lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Still in the clinch, Manalac scores with a nice short uppercut. A left hand lands to the body for Manalac.
Manalac lands a hook to the side of the head. Manalac lands on the inside with an uppercut. Manalac lands a body shot. Manalac lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Mason to his knees! Manalac keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matthew Manalac! Matthew Manalac decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
