And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Pots!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxing connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Pots is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Boxing's half guard.

Pots is looking to advance position but Boxing won't allow it.
Pots thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Boxing moves in looking to clinch but Pots pushes him off.

Pots chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boxing can pounce on him.

Boxing closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Pots shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boxing as he avoids it easily.
Boxing misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pots moves out of range of the leg kick from Boxing.
Boxing is breathing heavily.

Boxing will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boxing stuffs the takedown.
Jim Boxing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Pots.
Boxing misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pots shoots for a double leg takedown but Boxing sprawls well. He's pushed Pots's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pots uses his free foot to push down on Boxing's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Boxing.
Pots has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pots seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Pots has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boxing could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Boxing just wasn't active enough.
Boxing throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pots is defended easily by Boxing.

Pots feints and as Boxing raises his hands in defense, Pots changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pots is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

James Pots has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Some wild striking there from Boxing.
Jim Boxing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pots shoots in looking for a takedown. Boxing tries to sprawl out of it but Pots keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boxing manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pots looking to ground and pound but Boxing is blocking nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pots tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pots is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Boxing is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Boxing flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Pots anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Boxing and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Pots slips an arm under Boxing chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Pots has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Pots is squeezing on Boxing like an anaconda would it's prey. Boxing fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). James Pots!
James Pots was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
