Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Laipui Liana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Teadies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teadies has chosen 'I Came to Believe' by Johnny Cash as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Laipui Liana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Teadies! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liana throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Liana doesn't succeed with the takedown and Teadies holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Liana is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Teadies to keep the fight standing. Teadies can't find room to land a body shot as Liana controls the action.
Teadies lands a body shot in the clinch.
Liana manages to pull guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Liana has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Teadies is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Liana. Teadies tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Liana tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Teadies wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Teadies just content to control the position. Teadies prevents Liana from escaping the position. You can see the frustration on Liana's face as Teadies controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liana wants to get back to his feet but Teadies drags him back down. Liana tries to get back to half guard but can't. Liana is working hard here to advance position. Teadies is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Liana is not content to let Teadies control the position. Liana wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Teadies slows the pace down.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Teadies was stalling too much, according to the referee. Teadies gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Teadies working a defensive guard here.
Liana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Teadies swivels though and keeps the full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Teadies is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Liana postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Teadies is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Liana, into his guard. Liana is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Teadies slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Teadies looking to pass the guard. Teadies is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Teadies must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Liana had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Teadies defends it easily. Teadies is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Liana looking for subs off his back but Teadies has passed one foot through into half guard.
Teadies tries to pass the half guard into mount. Liana knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Teadies stalling. Liana is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Teadies pulls his head out easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Teadies slows the pace down in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Teadies will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Liana with a lazy takedown attempt and Teadies moves into the clinch. Teadies pressing his opponent against the cage. Liana tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Teadies just stands there and leans against the cage. Come on Teadies - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Teadies manages to break the clinch.
Liana with a poor takedown and Teadies counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laipui Liana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Teadies gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Liana keeping moving, preventing Teadies from controlling successfully. Teadies tries to stand but Liana is controlling from the bottom. Liana is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Teadies is aware though and is defending well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Teadies is posturing up here but Liana has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Teadies tries to roll out but it's too tight and Teadies has to tap! Slick submission there by Liana!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Laipui Liana! Jake Teadies spoke after the fight, saying 'I wanna thank JESUS for giving me a good fight and teaching me to accept whatever comes from His will!'.
