Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Matrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syd Datsik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Datsik has chosen Let The Rhythm Hit Em as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Datsik lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
That kick from Matrix tenderised Datsik's leg. Datsik is trying to keep his angry face on.
Matrix loads up on a big right hand but Datsik slips the punch.
Datsik moves out of range as Matrix strikes.
Matrix slips a jab from Datsik.
Matrix punishes Datsik's body with a nice straight punch.
Matrix misses with an uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Matrix. Datsik does a little dance to reset his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Matrix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Matrix's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Datsik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Datsik has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Datsik throws a hook to the side of Matrix's head but Matrix sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
