Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthit Rattanakosin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthit Rattanakosin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Lynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arthit Rattanakosin!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Lynn checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lynn throws a looping overhand right but Rattanakosin ducks down to avoid it.
Lynn misses with a straight right.

Rattanakosin has closed the distance and engaged Lynn in a clinch.
Rattanakosin stops a takedown attempt from Lynn.
Rattanakosin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lynn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rattanakosin just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rattanakosin with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lynn is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Lynn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lynn has clasped his hands together around Rattanakosin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Lynn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rattanakosin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rattanakosin is squirming around, avoiding Lynn's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Rattanakosin tries to reverse the position but Lynn maintains control.

Lynn swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rattanakosin is now in Lynn's guard. A big mistake from Lynn there, giving up the dominant position!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lynn uses the cage to get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A looping hook to the body misses from Lynn. Rattanakosin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lynn throws an overhand right that lands on Rattanakosin's shoulder, as Rattanakosin tries to avoid the shot.
Lynn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rattanakosin swivels and escapes.
Lynn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rattanakosin as he jumps to the side.

Lynn misses with a takedown attempt - Rattanakosin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lynn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rattanakosin can't fight it off and eventually Lynn manages to take the fight to the floor. Rattanakosin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

We've been informed that Rattanakosin has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carl Lynn will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Rattanakosin clinches.

Lynn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rattanakosin regains guard.
Lynn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lynn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rattanakosin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carl Lynn.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lynn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rattanakosin!

Lynn is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rattanakosin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rattanakosin!
Lynn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rattanakosin is staying active underneath Lynn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carl Lynn just wasn't active enough.

Carl Lynn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rattanakosin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rattanakosin wants it to stay on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carl Lynn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lynn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
