Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Felipe Toro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kilgore Trout!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trout closes this distance looking for a takedown but Toro circles away.
Toro wants to clinch up but Trout keeps it at a distance.
Toro shoots in but Trout avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Toro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Toro lands in his opponent's guard.
Toro trying to control the position from guard on top but Trout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Trout had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Toro defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Toro wants to stand but Trout has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Felipe Toro.

Toro shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Trout manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Toro is stalling in the full guard.
Toro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Trout is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Toro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Toro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Toro stands and steps away. Trout gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trout fails in his attempt to clinch.
Toro throws a predictable looking body shot
and Trout counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Toro shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Trout napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Toro has hold of Trout's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Trout seems comfortable defending it but Toro has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Trout is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Trout is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Toro couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Felipe Toro!
