Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smokudju Womba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Womba comes to the cage accompanied by Ludacris - Blueberry Yum Yum. Speed has chosen Amon Tobin / El Cargo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Daniel Speed acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Smokudju Womba!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Speed!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed connects with a nice looking jab.
Womba rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Speed counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Womba moves out of range of the body kick.
Womba connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Speed's hands.

Womba feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Womba is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speed is just riding it out for now. Womba eventually gives up the hold.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Speed working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Womba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Speed can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Womba seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Womba does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

I would just about give that final round to Daniel Speed.

An out of breath Smokudju Womba thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Daniel Speed had this to say: 'If I had one I'd take my hat off now. Thanks for the fight, sir. I got a lot out of this and I will come back stronger!'.
