Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greco Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greco Roman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eduardo Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roman misses with a takedown and Alvarez counters with a single leg into guard. Roman didn't expect that. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Roman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Alvarez trying to control the position from guard on top but Roman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Alvarez looking to pass the guard. Alvarez trying to control but Roman is working from the bottom.

Roman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alvarez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roman won't allow Alvarez to sweep him here. Roman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Roman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alvarez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alvarez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Roman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Roman trying to control the action but Alvarez is working from the bottom. Roman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

He's pushing on Roman's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Alvarez is looking for a sweep. Roman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Roman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Roman is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Alvarez still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Alvarez has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Alvarez wants to control for a moment but Roman uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Greco Roman! In his post fight interview, Greco Roman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
