PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herb Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Locke comes to the ring accompanied by Star Wars - Imperial March. Green has chosen Down - Hail The Leaf as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herb Green!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Green drives through with a takedown into Locke's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Locke throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Green escapes and throws Locke's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Green swings around for an armbar but Locke sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Green's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Green can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Locke controls the pace.

Locke got a little sloppy there for a moment and Green has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Locke has managed to get both his arms back between Green's legs - danger averted.

Green escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Locke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Locke drops back looking for a leg! Green is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Green manages to kick Locke off! Locke jumps back into Green's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
