PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between HeavyWeight Prizefighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greek Gyros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prizefighter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Under and Over it by ffdp. Gyros has chosen Greek Gyros as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gyros throws a body punch but Prizefighter moves out of range.
Prizefighter lands with a thumping leg kick.
Prizefighter throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Prizefighter as Gyros shoots in.
Prizefighter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Prizefighter enables Gyros to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Prizefighter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gyros wants to control from the top but Prizefighter keeps moving.

Prizefighter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Greek Gyros.
Prizefighter misses with an uppercut. Gyros saw that one coming.
Prizefighter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gyros paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gyros tries to score a power double leg takedown but Prizefighter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gyros somewhat.

Prizefighter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gyros pushes Prizefighter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Prizefighter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Gyros tries to buck Prizefighter off but Prizefighter is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gyros sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Gyros tries to get to full guard but Prizefighter has control of the leg.
Prizefighter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gyros's head.

Prizefighter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gyros with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gyros is refusing to be controlled, as Prizefighter sits in half guard.
Gyros has hold of Prizefighter's hands but Prizefighter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Prizefighter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gyros has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Prizefighter's body.
Even with his hooks in, Gyros manages to miss with strikes from the back.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Gyros shoots in but Prizefighter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
