The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagger throws a sloppy head kick and O Mally moves out of range easily.
Dagger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to O Mally's calf.
Dagger thuds a left hand into O Mally's body.
Dagger ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
O Mally takes a swing at Dagger's ribcage but misses.
Dagger misses with a wild body shot.
O Mally takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
O Mally checks a leg kick.
A punch combination from O Mally misses.
O Mally shoots in looking for a takedown but Dagger manages to keep the fight standing, pushing O Mally's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
O Mally throws a right hand that Dagger ducks under and follows up with a left that Dagger also avoids with ease.
Dagger dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on O Mally. That did some damage!

Dagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

O Mally holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dagger tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

O Mally lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

O Mally can't find room to land a body shot as Dagger controls the action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dagger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dagger goes for a double leg but O Mally avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as O Mally continues to drive forward.

Dagger throws a leg kick which misses O Mally's front leg but catches the back leg as O Mally tries to avoid it.

and Dagger counters with a single leg into guard. O Mally didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dagger is looking to advance position but O Mally has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Dagger tries to lock up and control but O Mally gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Dagger sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

O Mally would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

O Mally connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dagger's face.
Dagger goes for a takedown attempt but O Mally pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dagger, right into the meat.
O Mally bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dagger's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connor O Mally has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

O Mally gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dagger.
Dagger lands a head kick. O Mally smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

O Mally does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Dagger doesn't manage to clinch there - O Mally circles away.

Jim Dagger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
