Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Heyat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otto Varjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Varjo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Faith No More - Be aggressive. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Heyat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otto Varjo! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Varjo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Heyat. Varjo moves into range and clinches up with Heyat. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Varjo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Varjo wants to free his trapped foot but Heyat is holding on for dear life with his legs. Heyat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Heyat trying to control here.
Varjo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Heyat knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varjo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Heyat is trying to stand.
Varjo is thwarting Heyat's attempts to control the position. Heyat won't allow Varjo to pass to mount. Varjo is keen to just control but Heyat is a slippery customer. Varjo stalling. Heyat has his hands clasped together around Varjo's back. He's all about the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Heyat swings widly with a right hand
and Varjo counters with a single leg into guard. Heyat didn't expect that. Varjo has gone for a leg lock! Heyat slips out almost immediately though and dives into Varjo's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Heyat postures up.
Varjo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Varjo looking for subs off his back but Heyat has passed one foot through into half guard.
Still in half guard, Heyat seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heyat is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Varjo has managed to free his arm - good work. Varjo wants to get back to full guard. Varjo wants to control but Heyat is keeping busy and won't allow it. Varjo tries to get to full guard but Heyat has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Heyat trying to control the action but Varjo is working from the bottom. Heyat performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Heyat tries to pass the half guard into mount. Varjo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Varjo trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Varjo cracks Heyat with an open hand slap. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Otto Varjo dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Heyat misses with an uppercut. Varjo saw that one coming. Varjo doesn't manage to clinch there - Heyat circles away.
Varjo shoots for a double leg takedown but Heyat sprawls well. He's pushed Varjo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Varjo. Heyat does a little dance to reset his feet. Varjo cracks Heyat with an open hand slap. Varjo thows a body shot but no joy. Heyat stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Heyat wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varjo doesn't manage to clinch there - Heyat circles away.
Heyat cracks Varjo with a right hand to the side of the head. Heyat throws a jab when Varjo was well out of range. Varjo looks to score with a jab to the body but Heyat is just out of range. Varjo throws a lazy uppercut
and Heyat counters with a stiff right hand. Heyat throws a low kick but Varjo avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varjo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Heyat scores with a jab. Varjo acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Heyat walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Heyat looks to throw the jab but Varjo is out of range. Heyat tries to work over Varjo's front leg with a kick but Varjo checks it. Heyat connects with a right hand. Varjo shakes it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heyat will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Heyat misses with an uppercut
and Varjo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Heyat! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Varjo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Heyat is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Heyat prevents Varjo from moving into mount. We've been informed that Varjo has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Heyat is not content to let Varjo control the position. Heyat stops Varjo from passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heyat is trying to get back to half guard. Varjo looking to control but instead Heyat has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Heyat is looking for a sweep. Varjo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Varjo is just content to waste time from the top position. Heyat takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Heyat on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Heyat tries to get out of the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Varjo passes easily into side control. Nice work. Heyat is holding Varjo down, trying to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Otto Varjo will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Varjo cracks Heyat with a good jab. Varjo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Heyat has time to react. Heyat throws a left and a right that both miss
and Varjo counters with a nice uppercut. Varjo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Heyat throws a leg kick but Varjo checks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varjo clobbers Heyat with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Varjo slips under a jab from Heyat. A lazy left from Heyat finds it's target. Heyat throws a jab when Varjo was well out of range. Heyat misses with a looping right. A punch lands to the side of Heyat 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heyat steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Varjo. Heyat is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Varjo's half guard. Varjo is looking to control Heyat's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Varjo avoid being mounted? Varjo works his way to full guard. Good work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Varjo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Heyat doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Heyat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Varjo wants to sweep here but Heyat controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Varjo keeping full guard, as Heyat tries to pass. Varjo controlling the position. Otto Varjo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Varjo trying to control the position.
Varjo pulls Heyat in to control the position. Varjo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Otto Varjo was stalling too much, according to the referee. Varjo cracks Heyat with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Heyat, as that shot connected.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Heyat misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Varjo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Heyat walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Varjo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Gabriel Heyat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Heyat throws a leg kick and Varjo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Otto Varjo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Varjo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
