I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cao Cao was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitaker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cao defends it nicely. Whitaker misses with a straight left. Whitaker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cao's guard. Cao is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Whitaker pushes down on Cao's leg and manages to get into half guard. Whitaker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cao is looking to escape. Cao keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitaker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Whitaker is looking for a kimura here.
