Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordy Richardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Edgar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gordy Richardson! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richardson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edgar's waist but Edgar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Richardson off to one side. Edgar gets the takedown into side control. Edgar tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Edgar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Edgar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Richardson has escaped the position, nice work there. Edgar with the ground and pound but Richardson regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Edgar trying to control the action but Richardson is working from the bottom. Edgar prevents Richardson from improving his position. Richardson is trying to stand back up but Edgar is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Edgar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Richardson! Richardson can't escape the position.
Richardson wants to hold on but Edgar pushes him away. Edgar with shots to the head and body - Richardson looks very uncomfortable down there. Richardson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Richardson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Richardson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Richardson can do anything to dispel that myth. Richardson kicks off Edgar and gets to his feet. Edgar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richardson's waist but Richardson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edgar off to one side. Edgar is breathing heavily. Edgar misses with a takedown and Richardson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Edgar's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Edgar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Richardson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Edgar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Edgar stops Richardson from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Richardson trying to hold on to Edgar's head to control him but Edgar postures up.
Richardson works his way to full guard. Good work. Edgar trying to control the position from guard on top but Richardson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Richardson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Richardson managing to control the position. Richardson trying to keep a closed guard but Edgar is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Richardson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Richardson controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordy Richardson dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Richardson fails with the takedown and Edgar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Richardson! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richardson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar landing strikes from the mount and Richardson is in trouble! Edgar scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Richardson?

Edgar tries to control but Richardson wriggling away. Richardson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Edgar. Richardson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Edgar scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Edgar with a couple of short strikes. Edgar looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Edgar throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Edgar trying to control but he's not successful this time. Richardson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Richardson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Richardson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Edgar wriggles free and stands up. Edgar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edgar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Richardson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richardson is defending against the submission attempts here by Edgar.
Edgar is looking for a kimura here.
Richardson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Edgar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Edgar's back! Richardson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Richardson not allowing Edgar to control his hands. Richardson scores with punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Edgar dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Richardson tests Edgar's chin there with a solid looking shot. Edgar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richardson sprawls well initially but Edgar persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Richardson moves into full guard.

Edgar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Richardson gets full guard. Richardson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Edgar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Richardson. Richardson wants to take a breather but Edgar is having none of it. Edgar is trying is best to control the position here. Edgar is staying active underneath Richardson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Edgar looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Richardson is nestled in close to Edgar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Richardson is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Edgar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Richardson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Edgar is looking to take a break and control but Richardson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Edgar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Richardson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Richardson misses with a takedown and Edgar counters with a two punch combo. Richardson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Edgar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Richardson's guard now. Frank Edgar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gordy Richardson. Edgar wants to control from the top but Richardson keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Edgar showed his dominance in that final round. I think Edgar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
