Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Einar Haugen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haugen comes to the cage accompanied by Blood Rave !. James Alan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Einar Haugen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Einar Haugen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Alan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haugen's waist but Haugen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alan off to one side.
Haugen tries to clinch but Alan is having none of it.

Haugen gets a clinch.
Alan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Haugen lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Haugen breaks the clinch.
Alan fails with a takedown attempt.
Alan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Haugen as he jumps to the side.
Einar Haugen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Alan.
Alan wants to clinch up but Haugen keeps it at a distance.

Haugen rushes Alan and presses him up against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Haugen has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Haugen stops a takedown attempt from Alan.
Haugen controlling the action here for a moment.

Haugen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alan misses with a body kick.
Alan throws a looping overhand right but Haugen ducks down to avoid it.
Haugen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Alan tries to sprawl but Haugen drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Haugen decides to stand and escape the position.
Alan darts in looking for a takedown but Haugen gets double underhooks and turns Alan into the cage.

Haugen is trying to trip Alan. He has hold of a leg but Alan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Haugen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Haugen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alan on the ground.
Haugen is breathing heavily.
Alan is trying to control the position but Haugen postures up.
Alan trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Haugen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Alan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haugen is one step ahead there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alan is looking to stand up but Haugen isn't so interested in that idea.
Alan is looking to sweep but instead, Haugen has passed into half guard.
Alan wants to control but Haugen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Haugen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Haugen is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haugen manages to get himself to full guard.

Haugen doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Haugen has a closed guard, preventing Alan from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alan wants to stand and escape but instead Haugen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Haugen postures up.
Haugen tries to free his leg and advance position but Alan is retaining full guard.

Alan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Haugen is aware though and is defending well.

Alan is looking for a triangle but Haugen pushes his legs off easily.
Haugen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Haugen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Alan will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Alan has a takedown stuffed.
Alan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Haugen counters with a left and a right that stings Alan.
Alan goes for a double leg but Haugen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Haugen continues to drive forward.
Einar Haugen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Alan.
Alan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Haugen is defending well for now.

Haugen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Alan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Haugen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alan is in Haugen's guard.
Alan wants to control from the top but Haugen keeps moving.

Alan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Haugen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Haugen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Haugen!
Haugen tries to stand but Alan controls the position and pulls Haugen into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Alan trying to keep a closed guard but Haugen is proving a slippery customer.

Alan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Haugen doesn't defend quickly enough and Alan has managed to lock this one up! Can Haugen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alan on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). James Alan!
