Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Royler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royler comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Fuel. Roger Marsden is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roy Royler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roger Marsden! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Royler takes one on the button. Royler slips a straight right by Marsden. Royler throws a leg kick but Marsden checks it. Marsden fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Royler throws a right hand that Marsden ducks under and follows up with a left that Marsden also avoids with ease. Royler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Marsden scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Royler tries to clinch up but Marsden circles away and keeps his distance. Royler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Royler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marsden scores with a decent looking hook. Royler lands with a straight right. Marsden didn't see that one coming. Marsden checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. This has been an exciting period of action! Marsden throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marsden fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Royler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Marsden.
That's one minute gone in the round. Royler connects with an inside leg kick. Roger Marsden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marsden scores with the left hand. Royler knows he should have avoided that one. Marsden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Marsden stuns Royler with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Roy Royler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd cheers as Marsden lands an impressive looking overhand right. Royler doesn't seem phased though. Royler thumps Marsden with a low kick. Marsden throws a lazy uppercut
and Royler counters with a straight right hand. Marsden looks to clinch and Royler counters with a straight right hand. Royler cracks Marsden with a right hand to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marsden connects with a nice looking jab.

Marsden is rocked! Royler tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Marsden is able to avoid easily. Marsden is still on wobbly legs! Can Royler finish him? Marsden scores with a three punch combo!
Marsden seems to have recovered his senses. Marsden has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Royler lands a nice hook to Marsden's body. Marsden takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Marsden decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Marsden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marsden working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Marsden is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Royler sees it coming and defends easily. Royler is trying to stand.
Royler is positioning himself well to prevent Marsden advancing to mount. Marsden trying to pass the guard but Royler defending well. Marsden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marsden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Marsden thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Royler's head. Marsden is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Royler is just riding it out for now. Marsden eventually gives up the hold. Marsden is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marsden is looking for a kimura here.
Royler wants to control but Marsden is keeping busy.
Royler tries to roll over but Marsden keeps him under control. Marsden throws a strike but Royler avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsden has gone for a leg lock! Royler slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marsden's guard. Royler stands up from guard. Let's bang! Marsden missing with a left hand there. Royler was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Royler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marsden stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Royler takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. A looping hook to the body misses from Royler. Marsden does a little dance to reset his feet. Marsden takes a swing at Royler's ribcage but misses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No luck with that takedown attempt from Marsden. Roy Royler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Marsden. Royler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Marsden throws a series of punches but Royler avoids them all with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roy Royler will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Royler with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marsden to score with a decent uppercut. Roy Royler is winning the standup battle so far. Marsden missing with a left hand there. Royler was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Royler on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jab by Marsden. Marsden throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Marsden misses the shot to the body. A momentary lapse in concentration from Royler enables Marsden to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Royler manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Marsden with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Marsden wants to pass the guard but Royler is keeping the position. Royler controls Marsden momentarily but Marsden frees himself. Marsden trying to control the position from guard on top but Royler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marsden throws an elbow that misses. Royler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marsden's guard. Nice move by Royler!
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsden has a closed guard, preventing Royler from standing up. Royler engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Roy Royler wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Marsden misses with a wild body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marsden jabbing away but nothing is landing. The fight stays on the outside here - Royler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marsden scores with a hook. Royler uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marsden. Royler walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Royler throws a hook but Marsden blocks it. Royler lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Marsden rushes Royler and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Marsden fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Royler has Marsden pressed against the cage, preventing Marsden from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Marsden has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Royler after a bit of a struggle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marsden controlling the action here for a moment.

Royler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marsden is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Marsden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marsden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Marsden throws a big elbow that misses. Royler wants to sweep here but Marsden controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Royler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Marsden lands a couple of elbows. Royler wants to get back to his feet but Marsden is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Marsden trying to control but Royler is working from the bottom. Marsden preventing the sweep. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Royler keeping moving, preventing Marsden from controlling successfully. Marsden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Royler is keeping the position for now. Roger Marsden has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Marsden trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Roger Marsden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Marsden has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
