The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boets avoids a kick to the body.

Horrible takedown by Boets or perhaps it was just good defense by McRoberts which made him look bad.

Boets breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McRoberts throws a series of punches but Boets avoids them all with ease.

Boets fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McRoberts looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Boets rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McRoberts moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boets misses with a series of wild punches.
McRoberts misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boets throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boets is defended easily by McRoberts.
McRoberts tries to bum rush Boets with a series of wild strikes but Boets uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sloppy strikes from McRoberts. Those never looked like landing.
McRoberts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boets circles away.

Boets shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McRoberts eats them both and turns towards Boets to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

McRoberts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boets gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McRoberts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McRoberts lands with a kick to the temple. Boets shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Boets has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can McRoberts defend it? Boets steps over the head and cranks it - McRoberts is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Boets!

After the fight, Dimon Boets was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
