Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Chick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorpe's entrance music is Limelight by Rush. A fine choice. Scott Thorpe is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Thorpe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Chick! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thorpe. Horrible takedown by Thorpe or perhaps it was just good defense by Chick which made him look bad. Thorpe looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Chick! Thorpe working away. Chick manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Thorpe scoring with strikes to the body and head.
It looks like Andy Chick has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thorpe trying to mount his opponent but Chick defends it. Chick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Thorpe. Chick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thorpe is working away from the top position though. Thorpe wants to take a breather but Chick is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorpe scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That has opened up Andy Chick's cut even more. Thorpe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Thorpe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chick knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Still in half guard, Thorpe seems content to control. Thorpe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chick defending well though. Chick told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Chick is looking to control Thorpe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chick avoid being mounted? Chick is looking for a sweep. Thorpe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Thorpe wants to stand but Chick has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Chick makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorpe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Thorpe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chick swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thorpe pushes Chick off looking to stand but Chick dives back in and keeps control.
Chick tries to stand but can't do so whilst Thorpe controls his leg. Thorpe is staying active underneath Chick, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Thorpe looks like he's trying to stand up.
Chick wants to control but Thorpe is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorpe tries to kick Chick off but Chick keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Chick wants to pass to mount but Thorpe is defending the position. Chick with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Andy Chick was stalling too much, according to the referee. Thorpe thows a left - swing and a miss! Chick throws a leg kick that misses. Chick throws a low kick but it's checked well by Thorpe. Chick throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Scott Thorpe has been cut. Thorpe tries to bum rush Chick with a series of wild strikes but Chick uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thorpe throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chick lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Chick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thorpe misses with a looping left. Thorpe throws a right and a left that both miss. Thorpe thuds a left hand into Chick's body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thorpe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chick as he jumps to the side. Chick lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Chick with a body punch. A glancing blow. Chick moves in looking to clinch but Thorpe pushes him off. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chick tries a head kick but it misses.
Thorpe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Thorpe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chick leaves Thorpe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Scott Thorpe will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Nice straight punches there by Thorpe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Thorpe.
The cut above Andy Chick's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Chick clobbers Thorpe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Thorpe throws the left hand but Chick avoids the punch easily. Thorpe throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Chick lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Thorpe gets a takedown into half guard. Thorpe throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Thorpe with the ground and pound but Chick uses the opportunity to regain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thorpe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thorpe looking to sit in guard and control but Chick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chick prevents Thorpe from getting back to his feet. Thorpe keeping moving, preventing Chick from controlling successfully. Chick lands a couple of digs. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Thorpe wants to stand but Chick is controlling the position. Chick controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chick wants to control from the top but Thorpe keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Chick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chick wants to control from the top but Thorpe keeps moving.
Andy Chick has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Thorpe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chick tries to avoid it but Thorpe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chick to the ground. Chick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We've been told by Thorpe's head coaches at Stark Slugger Society - NY that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Thorpe looks for a takedown but Chick sprawls well. Chick lands with a slapping head kick. Chick throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chick has closed the distance and engaged Thorpe in a clinch.

Chick misses with a hook to the ribs.
Chick gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thorpe.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Thorpe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chick has Thorpe pushed against the cage. Chick lands a shoulder strike. Chick tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thorpe's elbow. Chick gets underhooks to prevent Thorpe's takedown attempt.

Chick throws a head punch that misses. Chick is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Thorpe blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Chick lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Thorpe as Chick tries to tie him up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorpe goes for a takedown attempt but Chick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Thorpe shoots for a takedown but Chick saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Scott Thorpe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thorpe on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Andy Chick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Thorpe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Chick bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chick misses with a left hand and Thorpe counters with a stiff right hand. Thorpe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Thorpe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Thorpe misses the shot to the body. Chick lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chick stuffs the takedown attempt from Thorpe. Thorpe gets slowly back to his feet. Chick lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Thorpe, as that shot connected.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chick fails in his attempt to clinch. Chick moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Chick is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Thorpe walks forward, straight into a front kick from Chick. Chick throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thorpe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Chick - the referee stops the clock and Thorpe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Chick. Thorpe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chick.
Thorpe moves out of range of the body kick. Thorpe shoots in for a takedown but Chick shows good takedown defense. Chick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jab, jab by Chick - just one landing. Chick thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorpe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thorpe is looking to clinch. Chick thuds his right hand into Thorpe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. An inside leg kick lands from Chick. A head kick from Chick lands but Thorpe takes it in his stride. Chick lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thorpe's sensitive parts. Thorpe tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Thorpe tries to land a body kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Chick dodges the punch combination from Thorpe.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chick moves in looking to clinch but Thorpe pushes him off. Chick tries to clinch but Thorpe moves out of range. Chick lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thorpe's sensitive parts. Chick connects with a body shot. Andy Chick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chick with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Chick throws a leg kick which misses Thorpe's front leg but catches the back leg as Thorpe tries to avoid it. Andy Chick seems to be getting the better of the standup. Thorpe misses with a low kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorpe tries for a takedown but Chick sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Thorpe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chick thumps Thorpe with a low kick. Thorpe is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Chick scoring well with a low kick there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chick throws a sloppy head kick and Thorpe moves out of range easily. Chick connects with an inside leg kick. Thorpe keeps the fight on the outside. Chick tries to close the distance and clinch but Thorpe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A solid leg kick lands there for Chick.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chick catches Thorpe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chick displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Chick turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Andy Chick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Chick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
