Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Copeland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copeland comes into the arena with Avenged Sevenfold-Beast and the Harlot blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Copeland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan misses with a head kick.
Morgan tries a low kick but Copeland avoids it.
Copeland shoots in looking for a takedown but Morgan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Copeland's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Copeland.

Copeland shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Copeland has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Morgan defend it? Copeland steps over the head and cranks it - Morgan is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Copeland!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jay Copeland!
After the fight, Jay Copeland was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
