Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devin Hurdle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfonso Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alfonso Santiago will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devin Hurdle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfonso Santiago! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurdle blocks a low kick nicely. Nice body kick there by Santiago. Hurdle could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hurdle scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Alfonso Santiago has been cut. Hurdle moves into the clinch. Santiago stalls. Santiago lands an elbow just above Hurdle 's eye.
It looks like Devin Hurdle has been cut. Santiago tries to break free but Hurdle pushes him back against the cage. Hurdle has picked Santiago up - he's going for a ride! Hurdle dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hurdle tries to pass to full mount but Santiago defends it. Hurdle trying to control from Santiago's half guard. Santiago has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hurdle looking to sit in guard and control but Santiago gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurdle wants to sweep but no luck. Santiago looking to pass the guard. Santiago trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurdle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hurdle holds on and takes a little breather. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santiago controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurdle keeping moving, preventing Santiago from controlling successfully. Hurdle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hurdle tries to get out of the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Santiago looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Santiago wants to clinch. Santiago jabs Hurdle right on the nose. Hurdle blinks but takes it well. Santiago shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santiago showed some decent athleticism there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hurdle is concentrating on defense, preventing Santiago from advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hurdle's thigh. Hurdle counters though and makes it back to full guard. Santiago must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hurdle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hurdle is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Santiago is controlling him. Santiago wants to control from the top but Hurdle keeps moving. Hurdle looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago looking to sit in guard and control but Hurdle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hurdle prevents Santiago from getting back to his feet. Santiago looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hurdle stays in close to Santiago's body and controls the position. Santiago is trying to hold Hurdle in close to prevent damage but Hurdle has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hurdle missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alfonso Santiago will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hurdle tries to bum rush Santiago with a series of wild strikes but Santiago uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Santiago closes the distance and clinches up with Hurdle, looking for a takedown. Santiago pushes Hurdle against the cage but Hurdle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch but Hurdle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Santiago misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hurdle moves into the clinch. Santiago drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Devin Hurdle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alfonso Santiago. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Santiago drags the fight down to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hurdle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hurdle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hurdle stops Santiago from standing up. Hurdle passes Santiago's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Santiago is looking to improve his position.
Santiago is pressing down on Hurdle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hurdle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hurdle wants to control from the top but Santiago keeps moving. Santiago throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hurdle escapes and throws Santiago's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santiago tries to improve position but can't. Santiago trying to remain calm as Hurdle controls from the top position. Hurdle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Santiago avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hurdle. Hurdle slows the pace down. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hurdle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santiago keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hurdle has control of an arm but Santiago manages to advance to Hurdle's back! Hurdle showing good submission defense here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hurdle has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Santiago thows a strike but Hurdle uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Hurdle as he ends up in Santiago 's guard! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santiago looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hurdle is one step ahead there. Hurdle throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Devin Hurdle will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Santiago for as long as he can get away with. Hurdle prevents Santiago from improving his position. Santiago has one foot on Hurdle's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Hurdle circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Santiago jumps guard but Hurdle stands there with Santiago around his waist. Santiago gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Santiago is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Hurdle has denied him. Santiago jumps guard and drags Hurdle to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Santiago controls Hurdle momentarily but Hurdle frees himself. Santiago has his foot on Hurdle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hurdle works his way back into a safe position though.

Hurdle pushes down on Santiago's leg and manages to get into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hurdle is pressing down on Santiago's thigh, looking to free his foot. Santiago is holding on for now.
