Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Makao Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iggy Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto's entrance music is Sepultura - Territory . A fine choice. Guerrero is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: La Bamba. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Iggy Guerrero enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Makao Matsumoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iggy Guerrero!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto connects with a right hand. Guerrero shakes it off.
A shot to the liver by Matsumoto. Beautiful body shot.
Guerrero fails to land with a series of punches.
Guerrero throws a jab but it's blocked by Matsumoto.
Matsumoto lands a body shot.
Matsumoto swings for the body but Guerrero moves out of range.
Matsumoto just misses with a punch to the body.
Guerrero takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Matsumoto is looking to wear down Guerrero with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Guerrero misses with a head kick.
Matsumoto has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Matsumoto scores with a jab. Guerrero acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Matsumoto cracks Guerrero with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matsumoto lands a jab to the head.
Guerrero throws a hook but Matsumoto avoids it easily.
Guerrero throws a big shot that misses.

Matsumoto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Matsumoto lands in his opponent's guard.

Guerrero pulls Matsumoto in close to prevent any damage.
Matsumoto stands and throws Guerrero's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Guerrero is looking to reverse the position.
Matsumoto landing strikes.
A lull in the action here.
You can see the frustration on Guerrero's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Matsumoto in side control, throwing shots but Guerrero defends.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guerrero is looking for a sweep.
Guerrero regains half guard, as Matsumoto was trying to land strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matsumoto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Guerrero's head.
Matsumoto moves into full mount! Guerrero won't be happy about that!

Guerrero is in a horrible position here. Matsumoto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Guerrero tries to hold on but Matsumoto pushes him away.
Matsumoto looking to control but Guerrero is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matsumoto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guerrero is in a horrible position here. Matsumoto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Matsumoto landing strikes from the mount and Guerrero is in trouble!
Matsumoto is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matsumoto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Matsumoto avoids the attempt from Guerrero to control.
Matsumoto controlling from the full mount.
Guerrero is squirming around, avoiding Matsumoto's attempts to control the action.
Matsumoto controlling his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matsumoto is stalling here but it's allowed Guerrero to get half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Makao Matsumoto dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Guerrero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Matsumoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Matsumoto scores with a hook to the body. Guerrero takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Matsumoto fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guerrero sprawls well initially but Matsumoto persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Matsumoto looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Matsumoto is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Matsumoto prevents Guerrero from improving his position.
Matsumoto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Guerrero is looking to improve his position but Matsumoto isn't that keen on the idea.
Matsumoto wants to control the pace but Guerrero is squirming around nicely.
Matsumoto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Guerrero can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Matsumoto lands with some strikes.
Guerrero is wriggling around trying to escape.
Matsumoto trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Guerrero is looking to improve his position but Matsumoto isn't that keen on the idea.

Matsumoto lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Guerrero hang on?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Matsumoto is landing with some decent strikes but Guerrero is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Guerrero is rocked!
Matsumoto drops a big elbow. That's hurt Guerrero! More shots from Matsumoto and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Makao Matsumoto!
A relieved looking Makao Matsumoto thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
