Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonson comes to the cage accompanied by bis das Blut gefriert. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon wants to clinch.
Jonson lands a jab to the head.
It looks like David Nixon has been cut.
Jonson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nixon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jonson defends well and Nixon ends up having to push Jonson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jonson jumps guard but Nixon stands there with Jonson around his waist. Jonson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nixon looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Jonson is looking to break free of the clinch but Nixon has double underhooks.

Jonson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good leg kick by Nixon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Jonson throws a nice looking combination but Nixon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nixon gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jonson is trying to drag Nixon to the mat but Nixon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jonson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nixon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jon Jonson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
