Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Too Cold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matsumae Sukeyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Too Cold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cold avoids a punch combination nicely.
A slow jab from Sukeyuki misses its intended target.
Sukeyuki swats away the attempt to clinch by Cold.
Cold shoots for a double leg takedown but Sukeyuki sprawls well. He's pushed Cold's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cold goes for a double leg but Sukeyuki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sukeyuki continues to drive forward.

Cold pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cold has his takedown stuffed
and Sukeyuki counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Too Cold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cold fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Sukeyuki has closed the distance and engaged Cold in a clinch.
Cold prevents Sukeyuki from breaking the clinch.
Sukeyuki lands a left hand.
Sukeyuki lands a body punch in the clinch.
Sukeyuki is trying to break the clinch but Cold is controlling him.

Sukeyuki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cold fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sukeyuki lands a nice looking body shot.
Cold tries for a takedown but Sukeyuki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cold closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sukeyuki to the mat! Sukeyuki manages to get full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cold trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cold trying to control the position from guard on top but Sukeyuki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cold drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cold jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cold is breathing heavily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sukeyuki holds on and takes a little breather.
Cold has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cold pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sukeyuki is keeping the position for now.
Cold throws an elbow that misses. Sukeyuki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cold's guard. Nice move by Sukeyuki !

Cold is looking for a triangle but Sukeyuki pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sukeyuki throws a strike but Cold rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cold prevents Sukeyuki from getting back to his feet.
Cold trying to control but Sukeyuki is working from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cold stands and steps away. Sukeyuki gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cold has a takedown stuffed.
Sukeyuki swings for the body but Cold moves out of range.
Sukeyuki jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cold.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cold shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sukeyuki as he jumps to the side.
Sukeyuki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cold circles away quickly and effectively.
Cold takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Sukeyuki moves into range and clinches up with Cold.

Sukeyuki pulls Cold into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sukeyuki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sukeyuki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cold in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Cold drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sukeyuki looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sukeyuki looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sukeyuki !
Sukeyuki wants to stand but Cold is controlling his arm.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cold parries the strikes from Sukeyuki easily there. Sukeyuki is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cold to escape.
Cold avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sukeyuki .
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sukeyuki with the ground and pound but Cold regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Cold really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sukeyuki thows a huge punch but Cold dodges it nicely.
Sukeyuki working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sukeyuki tries to stand and escape but Cold is controlling the position.
Sukeyuki landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Cold is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sukeyuki scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sukeyuki is nestled in close to Cold, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sukeyuki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sukeyuki wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matsumae Sukeyuki dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cold slips a straight right by Sukeyuki .

Cold's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cold moves in looking to clinch but Sukeyuki pushes him off.
Cold shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sukeyuki sprawls well. Sukeyuki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cold gets slowly back to his feet.
Cold shoots and misses
and Sukeyuki counters with a series of strikes. Cold will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Sukeyuki counters with a left and a right that stings Cold.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Too Cold. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cold doesn't manage to clinch there - Sukeyuki circles away.

and Sukeyuki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sukeyuki misses with a low kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cold takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cold takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sukeyuki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Too Cold is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sukeyuki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Cold tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sukeyuki moves into the clinch.

Sukeyuki breaks the clinch.
Good work by Cold as he checks the leg kick.
Cold blocks a leg kick.
Sukeyuki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cold stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sukeyuki connects with a looping right hand.
Cold has his takedown stuffed
and Sukeyuki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sukeyuki drives through with a takedown into Cold's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Sukeyuki cracks Cold with a solid left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sukeyuki lands a couple of digs.
Sukeyuki throws a big elbow that misses.

Sukeyuki throws a sloppy strike and Cold has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Sukeyuki is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Cold!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Too Cold!
Too Cold got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
