Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reijo Rento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Meikalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meikalainen stalks Rento and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rento's face. Rento staggers backwards, shaken.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rento, right into the meat.
A chopping leg kick lands by Meikalainen.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Meikalainen misses with a head kick.
Rento takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rento shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've been hearing good reports from Rento's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rento is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Meikalainen has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Rento seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Meikalainen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rento misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meikalainen is trying desperately to improve position.
Rento throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rento postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Meikalainen looks a forlorn figure.
Meikalainen suckers Rento into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Meikalainen is now in Rento's guard!

Meikalainen throws a hook to the side of Rento's head but Rento sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Meikalainen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Rento is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rento checks a leg kick.
Meikalainen punishes Rento's body with a nice straight punch.
Rento thows a body shot but no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rento throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meikalainen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Rento has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rento there as he acknowledges the shot.

Matti Meikalainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That kick from Meikalainen tenderised Rento's leg. Rento is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rento on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Meikalainen drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Rento right on the button. Rento goes down! Meikalainen follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Meikalainen gets the win via TKO!
