Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksanteri Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanley comes to the cage accompanied by The man that you FEAR . Karelin has chosen CCCP as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksanteri Karelin! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Stanley with that takedown attempt. Stanley tries to land a leg kick but Karelin saw it coming and moves away.

Stanley misses the jab. An inside leg kick from Stanley misses. Stanley pivots, looking for a leg kick but Karelin is out of range and Stanley settles back down. Stanley throws a nice inside leg kick. Karelin works Stanley's body with a nice hook. Stanley tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Stanley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Karelin avoids a kick to the body.
Stanley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stanley misses with a head shot. Karelin uses the momentum to regain guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stanley throws a strike but Karelin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin postures up and lands a big shot to Stanley's brow. Stanley looking to control but Karelin passes into half guard.
Stanley is concentrating on defense, preventing Karelin from advancing position. Karelin is trying to control. Stanley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Stanley trying to control here.
Stanley is pressing down on Karelin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Karelin postures up.
Stanley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanley wants to sweep but no luck. Karelin throws a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanley working for a triangle but Karelin defends it easily.
Karelin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stanley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karelin wants to control from the top but Stanley keeps moving. Karelin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Karelin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Stanley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Karelin is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stanley looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Karelin has picked Stanley up and slammed him! Stanley can't keep hold of the triangle and Karelin manages to pass to side control! Stanley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stanley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Karelin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Karelin's back! We've been hearing good reports from Stanley's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Stanley lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Stanley is not going to allow Karelin to sit and survive in this position. Stanley keeps control of the position as Karelin tries to break free.
Stanley struggling to land strikes to the head as Karelin covers up. Karelin trying to control the hands but Stanley won't let him. Karelin is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Stanley is staying active. Stanley has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Karelin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stanley wants to control but Karelin is keeping busy. Stanley misses with punches from the back. Karelin has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Stanley. Stanley misses with punches from the back. Stanley looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Karelin taps!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kyle Stanley! Kyle Stanley retains his heavyweight title! Kyle Stanley took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'You thought you could win? You thought you could beat CBK?'.
