Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Adrian Lewis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Dantes! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dantes lands a nice hook to Lewis's body. Lewis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Lewis fails with the takedown. Dantes misses with a two punch combination.

Dantes digs a good body shot into Lewis's ribs. Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Dantes shows good takedown defense. Lewis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dantes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Lewis takes a body punch but keeps moving. Lewis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Marcus Dantes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lewis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Dantes to counter with a crisp jab. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dantes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lewis. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dantes jabs Lewis right on the nose. Lewis blinks but takes it well. Dantes misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis dives in for a single leg takedown but Dantes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lewis wants to take the fight to the mat but Dantes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Dantes is pressed up against the cage. Lewis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dantes down to the mat. Dantes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lewis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dantes counters with a lovely shot to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from Dantes. Lewis takes one on the button. Dantes lands a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dantes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dantes scores with a shot to the body.

Dantes tries to sprawl but Lewis drives through with a takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Dantes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dantes is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold. Lewis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dantes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dantes's head. Lewis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dantes has managed to free his arm - good work. Nice strikes from Lewis there. Lewis wants to take a breather but Dantes is having none of it. Lewis is keen to just control but Dantes is a slippery customer. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dantes preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Dantes trying to control from the bottom.

Lewis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Dantes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Dantes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lewiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Dantes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dantes is looking to regain half guard here but Lewis keeps moving and retains side control.

Dantes trying to remain calm as Lewis controls from the top position. The ground and pound from Lewis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Lewis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dantes has escaped the position, nice work there. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dantes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lewis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dantes throws a right and a left that both miss. Lewis dives in and grabs Dantes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dantes pushes down on Lewis's head and hops out.

Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dantes walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dantes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Dantes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dantes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Dantes lands with a good body shot. Lewis looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dantes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lewis stands and throws Dantes's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lewis scores with a couple of short elbows. Lewis throws a strike aimed at the side of Dantes's head but Dantes avoids it well. Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis swings around for an armbar but Dantes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lewis's guard. Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dantes defends well. Lewis looking for a triangle here. Dantes is fighting it but it looks tight! Lewis pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Dantes is tapping out - this one is all over!
