Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pauly Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Smiley - Dead Man Walking. Flare has chosen Also Sprach Zarathustra as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pauly Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy misses with a looping left.
Boy misses with a left hand
and Flare counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Boy gets caught flat footed, as Flare shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Flare is fighting to break Boy's control of his arms but Boy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Boy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Boy trying to control but Flare is having none of it.
Flare keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boy controlling the pace for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boy wants to control the pace but Flare is squirming around nicely.
Boy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boy trying to control but Flare is having none of it.

Flare is wriggling around trying to escape.
Boy looking to control but Flare is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Boy sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Flare is working to get back to half guard.
Boy controlling the position easily from mount.
Boy trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Boy is really struggling to control Flare but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Flare tries to reverse the position but Boy maintains control.
Boy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Flare is looking to escape.

Flare can't escape the position.
Flare manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Flare works his way to full guard. Good work.

Flare had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boy defends it easily.
Flare wants to sweep but no luck.
Flare utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boy looking to pass the guard.
Boy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Flare is proving hard to escape from.

Flare keeping moving, preventing Boy from controlling successfully.
Flare is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boy is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pauly Boy.
Flare doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Boy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A swing and a miss from Boy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pauly Boy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


No luck for Flare with that takedown attempt.
Flare lands a nice looking body shot.

Flare shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Flare showed some decent athleticism there.

Flare is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Boy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Boy is trying to keep Flare in close.

Flare with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flare wants to control from the top but Boy keeps moving.

Flare is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Boy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Boy has escaped and now he's on top!
Boy controls from within his opponent's guard.

Flare is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Boy frees his head nicely. Oh but Flare has switched to an armbar! Boy is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Rick Flare!
After the fight, Rick Flare was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
