25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz shoots and misses and Roosmalen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dela Cruz won't be happy with that. Roosmalen scores with punches from side control. Dela Cruz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Roosmalen. Dela Cruz tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dela Cruz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Roosmalen's best efforts. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roosmalen is keen to just control but Dela Cruz is a slippery customer. Dela Cruz is trying to get back to full guard. Dela Cruz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Roosmalen stopping the sweep attempt from Dela Cruz. Roosmalen forces his way into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Roosmalen works his way into full mount! Dela Cruz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Cruz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dela Cruz wants to control but Roosmalen is having none of it. Roosmalen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dela Cruz hang on? Dela Cruz wants to hold on but Roosmalen pushes him away. Roosmalen lands a big elbow. Dela Cruz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Roosmalen looking for a sweep. Not yet Roosmalen, not yet. Dela Cruz sitting in guard here, content to control. Roosmalen is trying to keep Dela Cruz in close.

Dela Cruz trying to control the position but Roosmalen is working away. Roosmalen seems a little lost for a moment, as Dela Cruz dominates the positioning. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dela Cruz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roosmalen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dela Cruz trying to control the action but Roosmalen is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Roosmalen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz swings around for an armbar but Roosmalen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dela Cruz's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Dela Cruz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roosmalen defends well. Dela Cruz has his hands on Roosmalen's head, controlling the position. Dela Cruz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roosmalen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dela Cruz pushes a forearm under Roosmalen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Roosmalen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
