Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Cobain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wily Kealoha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cobain's entrance music is Smell Like Teen Spirit. A fine choice. Kealoha has chosen Hula Hula as his entrance music. The key to victory for Kurt Cobain has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kurt Cobain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wily Kealoha!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobain tries to clinch there but Kealoha circles away.

Kealoha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cobain is not content to let Kealoha control the position.

Kealoha tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kealoha has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kealoha working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cobain tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kealoha wants to control but Cobain is keeping him busy.

Kealoha goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cobain rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kealoha's guard! Nice work there by Cobain!
Cobain wants to control from the top but Kealoha keeps moving.
Kealoha manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kealoha swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cobain is now in Kealoha's guard. A big mistake from Kealoha there, giving up the dominant position!

Cobain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kealoha has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cobain has managed to get both his arms back between Kealoha's legs - danger averted.

Kealoha looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cobain passes into half guard.
Kealoha gets back to full guard.
Cobain has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kealoha is looking for a triangle here but Cobain uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Kealoha is looking for a sweep.
Kealoha is not content to let Cobain control the position.

Kealoha gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Kealoha is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cobain pulls his head out easily.
Cobain is looking to take a break and control but Kealoha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kealoha tries to get to full guard but Cobain has control of the leg.
Kealoha gets back to full guard.

Kealoha looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cobain trying to control the position from guard on top but Kealoha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kealoha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cobain can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cobain wants to control from the top but Kealoha keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kealoha is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cobain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kealoha wants to sweep here but Cobain controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wily Kealoha dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Cobain.
Kealoha throws out a loose jab but Cobain uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cobain fails with a takedown attempt.
Cobain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cobain uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kealoha.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kealoha. Cobain does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kealoha tries to clinch up.
Cobain shoots for a double leg takedown but Kealoha sprawls well. He's pushed Cobain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Cobain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kealoha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kealoha shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cobain wants to control but Kealoha is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kealoha seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Cobain is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Wily Kealoha!
A relieved looking Wily Kealoha thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
