Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lo Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lo Cain!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cain displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brooks.

Brooks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brooks wants it to stay on the feet.

Brooks shoots for a double leg takedown but Cain sprawls well. He's pushed Brooks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brooks tries to avoid it but Cain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brooks to the ground. Brooks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brooks's waist but Brooks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cain off to one side.

Brooks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brooks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Cain finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Brooks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brooks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
