Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grand Master Yip Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Shimazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yip Man comes to the cage accompanied by Everything in it's right place. Grand Master Yip Man has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Grand Master Yip Man! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimazu tries to clinch up. Shimazu gets caught flat footed, as Yip Man shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shimazu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yip Man trying to control but Shimazu is working from the bottom. Yip Man postures up in Shimazu's guard and throws a big left but Shimazu blocks it. Shimazu keeping moving, preventing Yip Man from controlling successfully. Shimazu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yip Man is controlling him. Yip Man engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Yip Man has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shimazu looking for a guillotine here but Yip Man defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yip Man content to stall in guard here. Yip Man lands a couple of decent looking shots. Yip Man not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shimazu wants to sweep here but Yip Man controlling him for the moment. Shimazu looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yip Man sitting in guard, not really doing much. Yip Man will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We're going to have a standup here because Grand Master Yip Man wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Yip Man lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like William Shimazu has been cut. Yip Man really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Yip Man feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shimazus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shimazu wants to clinch. Shimazu wants to clinch up but Yip Man keeps it at a distance. Yip Man gets caught napping as Shimazu dives in and scores a takedown. Yip Man manages to retain guard. Shimazu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shimazu trying to control the position from guard on top but Yip Man is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yip Man controls Shimazu momentarily but Shimazu frees himself.

Yip Man is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Yip Man looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yip Man bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shimazu's guard. Yip Man scoring with punches to the head and body. Yip Man looking to pass the guard. Yip Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Shimazu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shimazu looking for a guillotine here but Yip Man defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yip Man passes into half guard. Yip Man is just content to waste time from the top position. Shimazu takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shimazu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shimazu is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shimazu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yip Man doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yip Man manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grand Master Yip Man dominated that round. The cut man is working on William Shimazu's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Yip Man fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Shimazu is out of range. Yip Man tried to score with a low kick but Shimazu checks it. Shimazu fails in his attempt to clinch. Shimazu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yip Man circles away quickly and effectively. Yip Man shoots in but Shimazu avoids the takedown attempt easily. A low kick from Yip Man misses and Shimazu moves into the clinch. Yip Man wants to take the fight to the mat but Shimazu manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Shimazu has Yip Man pressed against the cage.
Shimazu pulls guard effortlessly. Yip Man slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Yip Man stops Shimazu from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yip Man in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Yip Man is looking to pass into half guard but Shimazu pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Shimazu is in guard. Yip Man is looking for a triangle but Shimazu pushes his legs off easily.
Shimazu advances position into side control! Yip Man can't do much from the bottom here. Grand Master Yip Man overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yip Man manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Shimazu trying to hold on to Yip Man's head to control him but Yip Man postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yip Man is stalling here. Shimazu is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Yip Man seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shimazu has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Shimazu tries for a kimura but Yip Man is defending well. Yip Man can't do much from the bottom here. Shimazu trying to control the position but Yip Man is working away. Yip Man is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shimazu is thwarting Yip Man's attempts to control the position. Shimazu is nestled in close to Yip Man, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Shimazu tries to pass to full mount but Yip Man defends it. Yip Man is doing well to control the position and prevent Shimazu from advancing to side control. Yip Man manages to get to full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Grand Master Yip Man will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on William Shimazu's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Shimazu looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Yip Man swings away with a leg kick that misses. Yip Man throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A head kick by Shimazu - that's a beauty! Yip Man is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Shimazu can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). William Shimazu! Our winner, William Shimazu, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
