These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bodhidharma lands a big head kick that sends Avreli tumbling to the mat! Bodhidharma takes a step backwards and waves Avreli back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Mark Avreli has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Avreli connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Bodhidharma throws a left and a right that both miss
and Avreli cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Avreli shoots in but Bodhidharma avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Avreli is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bodhidharma is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Avreli.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Avreli tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bodhidharma sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Avreli somewhat.

Avreli ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Avreli is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bodhidharma had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Avreli throws a hook but Bodhidharma avoids it easily.
Avreli might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Some bone on bone action there as Avreli checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Mark Avreli's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
