Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Om Oms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Volkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Om Oms!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Oms misses with a hook.
Oms misses with a lunging right hand
and Volkov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oms walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Oms fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Volkov, pushing him back against the cage.
Oms manages to pull guard.
Volkov trying to control but Oms is working from the bottom.
Oms has his foot on Volkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Volkov works his way back into a safe position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volkov wants to control from the top but Oms keeps moving.
Volkov slips nicely into half guard.
Volkov is pressing down on Oms's thigh, looking to free his foot. Oms is holding on for now.
Oms wants to improve his position but Volkov is controlling well.
Oms wants to get back to his feet.
Volkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oms on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Volkov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Oms knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Volkov is trying to control. Oms wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Oms looks like he's trying to stand up.
Oms manages to get to full guard.
Oms looking to hit a scissor sweep but Volkov is one step ahead there.
Volkov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oms working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Volkov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Oms is tightening it up a little... Volkov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Volkov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Volkov taps out! Nice BJJ there by Oms!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Om Oms!
After the fight, Om Oms was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
