Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivo Sanader! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn throws a nice head kick!
Penn throws a wild body kick that Sanader sees coming a mile off. Penn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sanader shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penn but Penn pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sanader avoids a kick to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Penn as he connects with a hook. Sanader closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. Sanader pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sanader connects with a leg kick. Penn looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Penn is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanader forces Penn back against the cage and clinches. Sanader breaks from the clinch.
Sanader fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Penn manages to avoid it. Penn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sanader sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sanader tries to clinch but Penn is having none of it. Sanader plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Sanader tries to move into range but Penn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn just leaning against Sanader, taking a breather. Penn stops a takedown attempt from Sanader.
Nathan Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivo Sanader. Sanader escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nathan Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sanader closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Penn is pressed up against the cage. Sanader has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Penn down to the mat. Penn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Penn works over Sanader's head and body with a nice combination. Sanader takes one to the chin there. Penn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sanader. Penn connects with a body shot. Sanader thows a body kick. Penn tries to catch it but that hurt him. Sanader will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Penn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sanader shoots in and drives through. Penn sprawls well. Penn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanader fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sanader looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penn is fending him off so far but Sanader persists. Nope, Penn circles away and we're back to standing. Penn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Penn wants it to stay on the feet. Penn throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Sanader doesn't manage to clinch there - Penn circles away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Penn. Sanader has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn scores with a hook to the body. Sanader takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Penn scores with a leg kick.
Penn misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanader fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Penn scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanader should have avoided that one. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Penn lands a jab-cross combination. Sanader fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sanader tries to close the distance and clinch but Penn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sanader shoots in looking for a takedown. Penn tries to sprawl out of it but Sanader keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Penn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nathan Penn will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Penn scores with a nice head shot. Sanader has a takedown stuffed. Sanader blocks a head kick by Penn.
Penn uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Penn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sanader takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sanader is looking to clinch but Penn is avoiding it.
Sanader fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Penn avoids it really well and circles away. Nathan Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Some bone on bone action there as Penn checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sanader under the eye. Penn cracks Sanader with a right hand to the side of the head. Penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Penn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sanader throws a low kick but Penn avoids it. Sanader slips a jab and a cross from Penn.
Penn throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.

A combination from Sanader does no damage. Penn catches Sanader with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Sanader fails with an attempt to clinch.
Penn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penn lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sanader showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Penn.
Sanader shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Penn throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sanader. Sanader darts in and clinches Penn up against the cage. Sanader breaks the clinch.
A head kick misses from Sanader. Penn lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Penn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Penn working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sanader has passed into half guard!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanader stands up and beckons Penn to join him on the feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sanader throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penn's waist but Penn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanader off to one side. Penn listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanader takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Penn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanader. Penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nathan Penn dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice uppercut lands for Penn. That snapped Sanader's head back.
Sanader gets a clinch. Penn is trying to push Sanader away but Sanader has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Sanader displaying some good clinch control by pressing Penn up against the cage. Sanader escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Penn. Sanader moves out of range of the body kick. Penn's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Penn duly obliges. Penn scores with a jab. Sanader acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Sanader throws a nice head kick!

We're going to have a standup here because Nathan Penn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Penn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Penn. Those never looked like landing. Penn throws a series of punches but Sanader moves out of range. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sanader fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Penn avoids it really well and circles away. Sanader shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penn but Penn pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ivo Sanader. I think Penn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
