Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Swenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Thomson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Swenson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Swenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Thomson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomson lands a slapping body shot.
Thomson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Swenson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Swenson slips a jab and a cross from Thomson.
A combination from Thomson does no damage. A head kick misses from Swenson. Thomson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Thomson swats away the attempt to clinch by Swenson. Swenson fails in his attempt to clinch. Thomson throws a leg kick but Swenson sees it coming and checks it nicely. Nice uppercut there from Thomson. Thomson dodges the punch combination from Swenson.
Thomson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Swenson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomson.
Thomson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thomson looks gassed! Swenson dodges the punch combination from Thomson.
Thomson throws a push kick but Swenson slaps the foot to one side. Swenson throws a leg kick which misses Thomson's front leg but catches the back leg as Thomson tries to avoid it. A low kick from Thomson misses and Swenson counters with a shoot takedown. Thomson fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swenson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Thomson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Swenson tries to clinch up. Swenson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thomson swivels and escapes. Thomson looks to score with a jab to the body but Swenson is just out of range. Thomson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Swenson wants to clinch. Thomson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Thomson duly obliges. Thomson lands with an overhand left. Thomson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Swenson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Danga de danga de dang - Thomson scores with a four punch combination! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomson misses with a hook to the body
and Swenson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Thomson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Swenson thows a body kick. Thomson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Swenson feints and as Thomson raises his hands in defense, Swenson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Thomson wants to stand and escape but Swenson is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thomson can do anything to dispel that myth. Swenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swenson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Swenson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Swenson moves into full mount! Swenson lands a big shot there that rocks Thomson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Swenson tries to control but Thomson wriggling away. Thomson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Swenson is taking a breather. Thomson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swenson working over Thomson with some ground and pound. Thomson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Thomson moves into full guard.
Thomson keeping moving, preventing Swenson from controlling successfully. Thomson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Swenson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Thomson lands a jab-cross combination. Thomson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Swenson counters with a head kick that drops Thomson!
Thomson is rocked! Thomson is looking to stand back up but Swenson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Thomson. Thomson is still in real trouble! Can Swenson finish him? Swenson decides to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swenson lands a brutal head kick. Thomson looks out on his feet and Swenson throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
