Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rulon Gardener Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reggie Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gardener Jr gets a takedown into half guard.
Coleman is trying to get back to full guard.
Gardener Jr is thwarting Coleman's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Coleman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gardener Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Coleman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gardener Jr is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Coleman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gardener Jr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gardener Jr throws a solid leg kick but Coleman takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gardener Jr.

Gardener Jr pivots, looking for a leg kick but Coleman is out of range and Gardener Jr settles back down.

Coleman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Coleman tries to score with some ground and pound. Gardener Jr controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Gardener Jr can't do much from the bottom here.
Gardener Jr is holding Coleman down, trying to stall.

Coleman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gardener Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coleman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Coleman looks up at the clock and then as Gardener Jr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Coleman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Coleman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coleman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gardener Jr regains half guard.
Coleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Coleman is trying to control the action in half guard but Gardener Jr is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Coleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Coleman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gardener Jr pinned against the cage. Gardener Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Coleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gardener Jr's head.

Coleman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reggie Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Coleman throws an overhand right that lands on Gardener Jr's shoulder, as Gardener Jr tries to avoid the shot.

Coleman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Coleman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gardener Jr's guard.
Gardener Jr tries to get to full guard but Coleman has control of the leg.

Coleman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gardener Jr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gardener Jr is trying to control but Coleman manages to pass to mount!

Coleman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Coleman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Coleman passes the guard and advances to mount!
Coleman lands a couple of good shots and Gardener Jr has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Coleman is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gardener Jr has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Coleman has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gardener Jr taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Coleman doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Reggie Coleman!
