Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Pilpipka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kett Dela Calzada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pilpipka comes to the ring accompanied by In My Mind (Axwell Mix)- Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay. Dela Calzada comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Papercut kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Danny Pilpipka has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kett Dela Calzada!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Dela Calzada.
Dela Calzada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pilpipka.
Horrible takedown by Pilpipka or perhaps it was just good defense by Dela Calzada which made him look bad.

Dela Calzada has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pilpipka is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Danny Pilpipka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Danny Pilpipka has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pilpipka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dela Calzada moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pilpipka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dela Calzada momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pilpipka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Dela Calzada cracks Pilpipka with an uppercut from hell and Pilpipka crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Dela Calzada's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Oh Pilpipka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Dela Calzada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pilpipka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dela Calzada is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Pilpipka seems to have got his legs back now.

Pilpipka is not content to let Dela Calzada control the position.
Dela Calzada throws an elbow but Pilpipka slips to the side and avoids it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kett Dela Calzada dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Pilpipka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pilpipka thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Dela Calzada's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dela Calzada is not content to let Pilpipka control the position.
Dela Calzada tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Dela Calzada gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Pilpipka jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dela Calzada manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Pilpipka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dela Calzada has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pilpipka seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Dela Calzada is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
