Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitaliy Yakimenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keith Glenn! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glenn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Yakimenko throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Vitaliy Yakimenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yakimenko explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Glenn has closed the distance and engaged Yakimenko in a clinch.
Glenn has Yakimenko pressed against the cage, preventing Yakimenko from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Glenn breaks the clinch.
Yakimenko on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Glenn tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yakimenko defends well and Glenn ends up having to push Yakimenko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Yakimenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters circling a little - Yakimenko finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Yakimenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Glenn closes the distance and pushes Yakimenko back into the cage. Yakimenko breaks from the clinch.
Yakimenko bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. We've been told by Yakimenko's head coaches at Urban Fight Gym (15 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yakimenko, right into the meat.
Glenn is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Yakimenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Glenn circles away quickly and effectively. Glenn swinging wildly here.

Yakimenko lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yakimenko throws a body kick that misses. Glenn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yakimenko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Glenn scores with a takedown into Yakimenko's guard. Glenn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yakimenko's head. Yakimenko is working an open guard so Glenn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Yakimenko thuds his shin into the meat of Glenn's side. Glenn throws a hook but Yakimenko avoids it easily. Glenn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yakimenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This has been an exciting period of action! Glenn landing a few strikes. Glenn working the head and body with strikes. Glenn scoring with punches from side control. Yakimenko is pushing Glenn's head away, looking to escape. Glenn manages to hold on to the position though. Glenn working the ground and pound. Yakimenko takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Yakimenko is rocked! Our spies down at at TEAMBEAST Training Asylum (ELITE COACHES + SAUNA) inform us that Glenn has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Glenn lands strikes to the head. Oh Yakimenko is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glenn keeps control of the position easily here as Yakimenko tries to buck him off.
Yakimenko controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Glenn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Glenn lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yakimenko is trying to get back to his feet but Glenn has full control of the position and if anything, Yakimenko has just worked his way into a worse spot. Yakimenko seems to have got his legs back now. Glenn softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Yakimenko has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Yakimenko is breathing heavily. Glenn has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Yakimenko is defending well but eventually Glenn manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Yakimenko has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
