The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assassin wants to clinch.
Ellis throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ellis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ellis misses with a wild combination.
Assassin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ellis.
Assassin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Assassin lands a big head kick that sends Ellis tumbling to the mat! Assassin takes a step backwards and waves Ellis back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Darios Ellis has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Assassin moves away from the strike by Ellis.
Assassin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ellis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Assassin keeps control of Ellis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Assassin is struggling to control the position.
Assassin pulls guard effortlessly.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ellis wants to pass the guard but Assassin is keeping the position.
Assassin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ellis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Darios Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ellis tries to bum rush Assassin with a series of wild strikes but Assassin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Assassin closes the distance and clinches.
Ellis is looking for a takedown.

Roy Assassin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darios Ellis.
Ellis is trying to drag Assassin to the mat but Assassin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ellis looks winded!
Assassin lands a good knee to the midsection. Ellis won't want to take too many of those.

Assassin has Ellis pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Ellis is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Assassin - that's hurt Ellis badly! Oh, another knee lands and Ellis is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Ellis doesn't seem to be complaining.
