Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vladamir Harkonen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aleskander Murko! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harkonen shoots in and drives through. Murko sprawls well. Harkonen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Harkonen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murko is trying to stand.
Harkonen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Harkonen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Murko is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Harkonen pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harkonen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Harkonen prevents Murko from standing back up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Murko looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Harkonen moves into full mount! Murko won't be happy about that! Murko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Harkonen with good strikes from the mount here! Harkonen controlling the pace for now. Harkonen with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murko's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Murko wants to control but Harkonen is having none of it. Harkonen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Vladamir Harkonen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Murko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Harkonen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Harkonen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Murko is controlling Harkonen's position as best he can from this difficult position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murko is trying to maintain the position but Harkonen is very close to passing his half guard. Harkonen content to control rather than advance. Murko is staying active underneath Harkonen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Murko wants to control but Harkonen is keeping busy.
Harkonen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Murko is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Harkonen pulls his head out easily. Murko is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Harkonen controlling the pace. Harkonen passes the guard and advances to mount! Murko wants to get back to his feet.
Harkonen controlling his opponent. A nice elbow there by Harkonen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladamir Harkonen dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Murko cracks a nice hook into Harkonen's ribs. Harkonen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Harkonen pulls Murko in close to his closed guard and prevents Murko from doing any damage or advancing position. Harkonen has a closed guard, preventing Murko from standing up. Murko preventing the sweep. Harkonen is working hard here to advance position. Murko decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Harkonen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harkonen trying to control the position but Murko is working away. Murko wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Murko trying to remain calm as Harkonen controls from the top position. Murko is pushing Harkonen's head away, looking to escape. Harkonen manages to hold on to the position though. Vladamir Harkonen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Harkonen controlling the position from side mount. Murko is not content to let Harkonen control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Vladamir Harkonen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Harkonen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Harkonen slips a straight right by Murko. Some wild striking there from Murko.
Murko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Murko pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Harkonen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Harkonen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Harkonen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Murko hang on? Murko is looking to get to half guard. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Harkonen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harkonen breaks from Murko's wrist control and lands an elbow. Murko's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Harkonen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Murko's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Harkonen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Murko taking shots to the head. Murko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Harkonen controlling his opponent. Harkonen wants to control the pace but Murko is squirming around nicely. Harkonen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladamir Harkonen dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Murko gets caught flat footed, as Harkonen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Harkonen won't allow Murko to get back to his feet. Harkonen sitting in guard, not really doing much. Murko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Harkonen wants to control from the top but Murko keeps moving. Harkonen is stalling in the full guard.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Vladamir Harkonen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Murko lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Harkonen with that takedown attempt. Aleskander Murko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harkonen drives through and clinches with Murko against the cage.
Murko is looking to break free of the clinch but Harkonen has double underhooks. Harkonen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Murko gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Murko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Harkonen slips a straight right by Murko. Harkonen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Murko's guard. Harkonen stops Murko from standing up. Harkonen sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harkonen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Murko throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Harkonen stays in close to Murko's body and controls the position. Harkonen won't allow Murko to sweep him here. Murko keeping moving, preventing Harkonen from controlling successfully. Harkonen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Murko is working an open guard so Harkonen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harkonen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murko as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladamir Harkonen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murko listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Aleskander Murko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice shot lands for Murko. Harkonen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Murko fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Harkonen on the side of the head. Murko rushes Harkonen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Harkonen prevents Murko from breaking the clinch. Harkonen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Murko prevents it.
Murko pushes Harkonen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Murko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Harkonen. Murko has had enough of the clinch but Harkonen keeps him there for the moment. Murko wants the takedown. Harkonen is fighting it off but Murko persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Harkonen's guard against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Murko has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Harkonen is proving hard to escape from.

Aleskander Murko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Murko postures up in Harkonen's guard and throws a big left but Harkonen blocks it. Murko tries to stand but Harkonen is controlling from the bottom. Harkonen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murko is one step ahead there. Murko content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Harkonen lands some strikes from the bottom. Vladamir Harkonen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Murko gets caught flat footed, as Harkonen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Aleskander Murko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Harkonen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
