Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aadilou Ankutse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Suez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ankutse comes to the cage accompanied by i ka kane . Rafael Suez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rafael Suez!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Suez. No joy for Ankutse on that attempt.
Aadilou Ankutse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suez misses with a double jab.
Suez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ankutse.
Ankutse fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aadilou Ankutse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Suez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Suez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Suez just misses with a punch to the body.

Ankutse shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Suez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ankutse throws an elbow but Suez slips to the side and avoids it well.

Ankutse tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ankutse has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Suez wants to control but Ankutse postures up.

Ankutse swings around for an armbar but Suez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ankutse's guard.
Suez advances to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Suez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ankutse tries to improve position but can't.

Suez seems to be working for a kimura but Ankutse defends the submission attempt.
Ankutse is trying to maintain the position but Suez is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ankutse makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ankutse.

Ankutse has his foot on Suez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Suez works his way back into a safe position though.

Ankutse had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Suez defends it easily.

Suez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ankutse's guard.

Suez is pressing down on Ankutse's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ankutse is holding on for now.

Suez is keen to just control but Ankutse is a slippery customer.
Suez is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ankutse reverses the position - he's now on top in Suez's guard.

Ankutse is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Suez reverses the position - he's now on top in Ankutse's guard.
Suez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ankutse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ankutse utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Suez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aadilou Ankutse will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Ankutse changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Suez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Who's going to make the next move?
Suez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Suez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ankutse's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ankutse's back!
Ankutse trying to control the position but Suez manages to sink in the hooks.

The referee is taking a good look at Ankutse as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Suez!
Suez is trying to stick to Ankutse's back but Ankutse is turning into Suez. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Suez's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ankutse.

Ankutse drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ankutse jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ankutse throws a big right hand that misses.

Ankutse is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Suez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ankutse is looking to defend but Suez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ankutse! Suez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ankutse taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rafael Suez!
Rafael Suez seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
