Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Kafka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Roxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kafka comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Viktor Kafka! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitch Roxton! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kafka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kafka throws a series of punches but Roxton moves out of range. Kafka jabs Roxton right on the nose. Roxton blinks but takes it well. Kafka connects with a leg kick. Roxton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Roxton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Roxton scores with a takedown into Kafka's guard. We've been hearing good reports from Kafka's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Kafka controls Roxton momentarily but Roxton frees himself. Roxton trying to control but Kafka is working from the bottom. Roxton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kafka working a defensive guard here.

Roxton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Roxton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Roxton throws a head punch that misses. Kafka throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Roxtons head. Kafka tries to work over Roxton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Roxton blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kafka has hold of one of Roxton's legs. Roxton is fighting the takedown attempt but Kafka gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Roxton managing to control the position. Roxton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kafka is one step ahead there. Roxton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Roxton feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kafka's calf. Roxton staying out of range there. Kafka is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Roxton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Roxton throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kafka takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Kafka throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Roxton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kafka. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roxton ducks under a wild hook from Kafka. Kafka avoids the head kick by Roxton.

Roxton tries to close the distance and clinch but Kafka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Roxton misses with a straight right. Roxton throws a low kick but Kafka avoids it. Roxton throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Kafka counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Roxton! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roxton is looking for a sweep. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kafka controls the position from side control.

Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Kafka lands with a hook. Roxton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kafka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Roxton. Roxton circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Roxton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. The fight stays on the outside here - Roxton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kafka is looking to slow Roxton down with leg kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Roxton is predictable there so Kafka counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kafka being controlled here momentarily. Roxton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kafka's guard. Kafka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Roxton trying to control but Kafka is working from the bottom. Roxton attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Some wild striking there from Roxton.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kafka stuns Roxton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kafka has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Roxton. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kafka checks a leg kick. Kafka lands a jab to the nose. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kafka throws a leg kick that is checked and Roxton counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Roxton throws a leg kick but Kafka moved away. Roxton moves in looking to clinch but Kafka pushes him off. Roxton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kafka is out of range and Roxton settles back down. Roxton misses with a body kick. Roxton throws a nice outside leg kick. Kafka connects with a leg kick. Roxton's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Roxton throws a push kick but Kafka slaps the foot to one side. Kafka connects with a right hand. Roxton shakes it off. Roxton rushes Kafka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kafka drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roxton tries to work over Kafka's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Roxton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Kafka misses with a body punch.

Roxton gets through Kafka's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Roxton has Kafka pressed against the cage, preventing Kafka from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kafka prevents a body shot from Roxton. Kafka blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right from Kafka. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A head punch blocked on the inside by Kafka. Roxton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Roxton struggles to land a body shot inside as Kafka controls his hands.
Roxton presses Kafka against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Kafka manages to break the clinch.
Roxton throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Kafka misses with an uppercut. Roxton saw that one coming. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Roxton.
