Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Potatos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan McAlister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McAlister has chosen Ylvis - The Fox as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Potatos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Duncan McAlister!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potatos lands with a thumping leg kick.
Potatos tries to move into range but McAlister moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Potatos throws a head kick but McAlister moves out of range.
Potatos throws out a loose jab but McAlister uses good head movement to avoid it.
Potatos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McAlister has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Potatos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McAlister checks the leg kick.

Potatos shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McAlister is looking to improve his position.
McAlister works his way to full guard. Good work.

McAlister looking to hit a scissor sweep but Potatos is one step ahead there.

McAlister is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McAlister is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Potatos defends it well.
McAlister wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potatos keeps working.

We've been told by Potatos's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Potatos scores with a kick to the midsection.
McAlister tries to clinch there but Potatos circles away.
Potatos swings for the body but McAlister moves out of range.
Potatos throws a sloppy head kick and McAlister moves out of range easily.
McAlister punishes Potatos's body with a nice straight punch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Potatos.
Potatos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McAlister's waist but McAlister gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Potatos off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Potatos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and McAlister cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jack Potatos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potatos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McAlister sprawls well. McAlister wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Potatos gets slowly back to his feet.
McAlister tries to clinch up but Potatos circles away and keeps his distance.
McAlister misses with a wild body shot.
McAlister uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Potatos throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting McAlister counter with a right hand.
McAlister is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
McAlister slips under a jab.
Potatos throws a head kick but McAlister moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Potatos moves out of range of the leg kick from McAlister.
Potatos shoots for a double leg takedown but McAlister sprawls well. He's pushed Potatos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McAlister has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

A swing and a miss from Potatos.
A telegraphed right hand from Potatos misses the target.
Potatos just misses with a punch to the body.
McAlister steps in with a hook that catches Potatos right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! McAlister follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Potatos looks absolutely devastated.
