Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Burt Bedlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Clausey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Clausey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Burt Bedlan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Clausey! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clausey keeps the fight on the outside. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Bedlan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Clausey looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Clausey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bedlan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bedlan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Clausey is looking to stand up but Bedlan isn't so interested in that idea. Clausey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clausey is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Clausey's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clausey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Clausey wants to stand up but Bedlan is controlling him. Clausey looking for a sweep. Not yet Clausey, not yet. Bedlan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clausey on the ground.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A combination from Clausey does no damage. Clausey swats away the attempt to clinch by Bedlan. Clausey closes the distance and clinches up with Bedlan, looking for a takedown. Clausey pushes Bedlan against the cage but Bedlan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Clausey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Clausey lands in his opponent's guard. Clausey works a leg free and moves into half guard. Clausey seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bedlan is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Thomas Clausey!
