Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pernell McPhee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demarques Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pernell McPhee is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pernell McPhee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Demarques Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to clinch up

and McPhee counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
McPhee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Johnson is trying to control the position but McPhee postures up.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but McPhee is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McPhee pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
McPhee passes the guard and advances to mount!

McPhee connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McPhee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Johnson tries to hold on but McPhee pushes him away.
McPhee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McPhee putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
McPhee won't let Johnson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

McPhee goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Johnson turns into him and now he's in McPhee's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McPhee has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McPhee is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pernell McPhee.
McPhee misses with a head kick.

McPhee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnson to the mat! Johnson manages to get full guard.
McPhee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
McPhee passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

McPhee is looking for a kimura here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McPhee has managed to clinch.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Johnson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Johnson swings wildly with an uppercut but McPhee uses good head movement to avoid it.
McPhee is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

McPhee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnson is looking to clinch but McPhee is avoiding it.
McPhee scores with a push kick.

McPhee gets the takedown into side control.

McPhee decides to stand back up. McPhee steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.

Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.
McPhee fails to pull guard.

Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
McPhee prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch.
Johnson can't break the clinch.
Johnson is trying to force a seperation but McPhee has the dominant position.
McPhee's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McPhee is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McPhee seems keen to control Johnson's posture.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Pernell McPhee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Johnson tries to clinch but McPhee moves away

and McPhee counters by moving into the clinch.

McPhee pushes Johnson off and scrambles back to his feet.

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McPhee has managed to free his arm - good work.
McPhee manages to get to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McPhee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pernell McPhee dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



McPhee gets a double leg takedown into Johnson's guard.


Johnson is rocked!
McPhee stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Johnson is still in real trouble! Can McPhee finish him?
McPhee lands a strong strike to the head of Johnson. That's dazed him! McPhee looking to finish here. Johnson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - McPhee lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pernell McPhee!
