Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wes Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joss Kyker!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez with a poor takedown

and Kyker moves into the clinch.
Alvarez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kyker gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kyker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt

and Kyker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kyker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wes Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alvarez wants to take the fight to the mat but Kyker manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Alvarez tries to score a body lock takedown but Kyker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Alvarez is working for takedown but Kyker is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kyker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Alvarez has Kyker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kyker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Alvarez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kyker gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Alvarez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kyker pulls his head out easily.

Kyker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joss Kyker was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Kyker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kyker.

Kyker turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kyker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alvarez some visible discomfort.
Kyker staying calm.
Let's hope that Kyker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alvarez wants to take the fight to the mat but Kyker manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Alvarez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kyker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Alvarez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Kyker continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Alvarez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kyker is defending well.

Kyker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Kyker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Alvarez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kyker swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joss Kyker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Kyker counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Joss Kyker has got the better of the ground game so far.

Alvarez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kyker postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Alvarez keeping moving, preventing Kyker from controlling successfully.

Alvarez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kyker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Kyker is sitting in close to Alvarez's body. Alvarez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kyker is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kyker is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Alvarez.
