Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dat Sik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Pegeant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 6, fighting out of Tokyo, Dat Sik!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Pegeant!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pegeant blocks a head kick by Sik.
Pegeant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sik pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sik takes the fight into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Sik.
Sik presses Pegeant against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Pegeant is looking to break free of the clinch but Sik has double underhooks.
Pegeant has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sik avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sik working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Sik lands with a short shot to the head.
Sik avoiding damage.
Pegeant using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sik has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Pegeant wants to stall.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Sik for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Pegeant drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pegeant is trying to drag Sik to the mat but Sik just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dat Sik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Pegeant.
Pegeant is trying to stall.
Sik's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sik creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Still in the clinch, Sik scores with a nice short uppercut.
Pegeant goes for a takedown attempt but Sik pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pegeant takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Sik connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Pegeant to the floor! Sik dives in looking for the finish!
Sik wants to free his trapped foot but Pegeant is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sik is working hard here to advance position.
Pegeant felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sik winds up and cracks Pegeant with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sik has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sik scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Sik will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Left hook, right uppercut from Sik.
Sik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sik cracks Pegeant with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Sik looks to clinch

and Pegeant counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pegeant is aware though and is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pegeant is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sik is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sik has escaped and now he's on top!

Sik forces his way into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pegeant won't allow Sik to pass to mount.

Pegeant avoids the head kick by Sik.
Sik is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Sik throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Dat Sik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pegeant shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Sik drives through and clinches with Pegeant against the cage.
Pegeant tries to score a body lock takedown but Sik shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sik scores with a shot to the side of Pegeant's head.
Sik lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Pegeant is trying to drag Sik to the mat but Sik just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sik lands a right hand.
Pegeant is still on wobbly legs! Can Sik finish him?
Pegeant takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Pegeant seems to have recovered his senses.
Sik is defending well against a takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sik dips a shoulder and cracks Pegeant with a mighty uppercut! Pegeant falls back against the cage and Sik unloads with a barrage of strikes! Pegeant is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sik screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dat Sik!
Dat Sik retains his welterweight title!
