Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buckley Starchwhite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Montilo!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starchwhite shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Montilo counters with a shoot takedown. Starchwhite fights it but they end up in guard.
Starchwhite will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Montilo prevents Starchwhite from getting back to his feet.

Montilo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Starchwhite dives on top into guard.
Montilo working a defensive guard here.
Starchwhite with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Montilo looking for a sweep. Not yet Montilo, not yet.

Starchwhite got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montilo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Starchwhite has managed to get both his arms back between Montilo's legs - danger averted.
Starchwhite postures up and lands a big shot to Montilo's brow.
Starchwhite is working Montilo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Starchwhite working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Montilo's head.
Montilo wants to sweep but no luck.
Starchwhite working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Starchwhite throws a big elbow that misses.

Montilo looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Starchwhite is defending well. Montilo quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Starchwhite has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Montilo celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rodrigo Montilo!
An out of breath Rodrigo Montilo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
