Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killian McDougle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Killian McDougle enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Killian McDougle!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDougle shoots in and bounces Mir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mir looking to control.

McDougle gets to his feet - Mir follows without any prompting.
Mir has a takedown stuffed.

Mir closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mir keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McDougle's efforts to push away.
Mir is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McDougle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
McDougle goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mir prevents it.
McDougle wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mir tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McDougle just stands there and leans against the cage.

McDougle wants to control but Mir is keeping him busy.

Mir has been working on his boxing with his coaches at NEXUS GYM in the buildup to the fight.
Mir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McDougle avoids it really well and circles away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McDougle sprawls well. McDougle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.

McDougle shoots in for a takedown but Mir shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McDougle closes the distance and clinches up with Mir, looking for a takedown. McDougle pushes Mir against the cage but Mir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mir throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McDougle's head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by McDougle.

McDougle closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McDougle can't break the clinch.

Mir has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McDougle uses from the top position.

McDougle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mir is fending him off so far but McDougle persists. Nope, Mir circles away and we're back to standing.

McDougle is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mir is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mir moves into range and clinches up with McDougle.

Mir jumps guard and drags McDougle to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Mir will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mir throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McDougle tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mir is in McDougle's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mir throws a big right hand that misses.
Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but McDougle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McDougle wants to improve his position but Mir is controlling well.
Mir wants to lay and pray for a moment but McDougle keeps working.
Mir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McDougle wants to get back to his feet.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mir wants to take a breather but McDougle is having none of it.

McDougle stuffs the takedown attempt from Mir. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.
Mir feints a jab promting McDougle to slip. Mir then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McDougle slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Mir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McDougle quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Mir slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from McDougle.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McDougle, pushing him back against the cage.
McDougle throws a punch but it's blocked by Mir.

Mir tries to pull guard but McDougle forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Mir lands an elbow just above McDougle 's eye.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mir just misses with a elbow thrown towards McDougle's brow.

Mir pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

McDougle tries to clinch but Mir moves out of range.

Mir gets tackled into the cage by McDougle. McDougle maintains the clinch.
McDougle tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mir avoids it.
Mir tries to circle away but McDougle has him pinned against the cage.
Mir is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

McDougle is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mir is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McDougle to the mat. McDougle regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Mir is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McDougle wants to sweep but no luck.
McDougle is trying to control the position from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McDougle instigates a clinch.

Mir is pressed up against the cage. McDougle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mir down to the mat. Mir avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from McDougle. No joy for Mir on that attempt.

Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McDougle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mir wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on McDougle's face as Mir controls the position.
Mir scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at McDougle to see if he's OK.

Mir tries to pass the half guard into mount. McDougle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McDougle is refusing to be controlled, as Mir sits in half guard.

Frank Mir showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mir has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
