Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Soon Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyun-Chul Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Soon Do has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Soon Do! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyun-Chul Kim! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim scoring well with a low kick there.
Kim throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Do throws out a loose jab but Kim uses good head movement to avoid it. Kim wants to clinch but Do slips to the side and Do counters with a straight right hand. Do scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Kim misses with an uppercut. Kim moves away from the strike by Do. Do scores with a jab to the body. A punch combination from Do misses. Kim on the wrong end of a nice hook. Do slips a jab from Kim. Kim takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Do displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kim throws out the jab. Kim sizes up Do with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Do throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Do throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kim stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Do takes a swing at Kim's ribcage but misses. Soon Do seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Do swinging wildly here.
Kim fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Do is out of range. Kim avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kim on the wrong end of a nice jab. Kim moves out of range of the strikes. Do looks to land a right hand but Kim moved out of range. Do closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kim trying to control here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kim is trying to control but can't.

Do tries to pass to full mount but Kim defends it. Do seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Do is working away from the top position though. Do is keen to just control but Kim is a slippery customer. Kim avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Do. Do not landing any meaningful shots this time. Do throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Do throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kim desperately trying to maintain half guard. Kim trying to control from the bottom.
Do working over Kim with some ground and pound. Kim looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Do not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kim felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Kim is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kim is trying to control but can't.
Kim is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Do is staying active. Do is figuring out what he wants to do next. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Do thows a huge punch but Kim dodges it nicely.
Do missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kim is looking to improve his position.
Kim is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Do not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kim avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Do. Do winds up and cracks Kim with a swinging punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Soon Do dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kim dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Do. That did some damage! Kim loads up on a big right hand but Do slips the punch. Do misses the shot to the body. Kim feints and then cracks Do's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Do down. Do looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kim is fending him off so far but Do persists. Nope, Kim circles away and we're back to standing. Do throws a lazy right hand but Kim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Do lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Do fails with a takedown attempt. Nice straight punches there by Kim. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kim. A looping hook to the body misses from Do. Kim does a little dance to reset his feet. Do avoids the head kick by Kim.

Do looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kim misses with a looping right. Do dives in and scores a takedown into Kim's guard. Do wants to pass the guard but Kim is keeping the position. Kim pulls Do in close to prevent any damage. Do throwing strikes from guard but Kim blocks nicely. Do postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kim trying to keep a closed guard but Do is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Do trying to control but Kim is working from the bottom. Do scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Do is looking to work some ground and pound but Kim has wrist control. Do trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kim preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Do throwing strikes from guard but Kim blocks nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kim is trying to control the position but Do postures up. Kim keeping moving, preventing Do from controlling successfully. Do with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Soon Do overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Do working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Do wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving. Do postures up.
Do postures up and lands a big shot to Kim's brow. Kim utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kim pulls Do in to control the position. Do throwing strikes but missing. Do is looking to work some ground and pound but Kim has wrist control. Do trying to control but Kim is working from the bottom. We've been hearing good reports from Do's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Do pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kim is keeping the position for now. Do with a nice head shot there.

Not particularly brutal. This has been an exciting period of action! Kim controls Do momentarily but Do frees himself. Kim pulls Do in to control the position. Do throwing strikes but missing. Kim is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Do content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Do accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Soon Do dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Do cracks Kim with a good jab. Do thumps Kim with a low kick. Do swings for the body but Kim moves out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Do, as that shot connected.
Kim cracks the inside of Do's front leg. Do connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kim momentarily.
Do takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Do throws a body punch but Kim moves out of range. Do throws a body punch but Kim moves out of range. Nice takedown defense from Kim. No joy for Do on that attempt. Do lands a jab-cross combination. Do moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Do fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Kim throws a jab but it's blocked by Do. Kyun-Chul Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Do connects with a nice looking jab.

Do throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Do works the jab nicely. Do blocks a low kick nicely. Kim misses with a low kick as Do jumps back. Do uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kim. Do scores with a jab. Do tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The fighters circle momentarily. Do darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Do swinging wildly here.
Do misses with a straight right. Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Do swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kim feints and then cracks Do's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Do down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Do avoids the head kick by Kim.
Kim ducks under a wild hook from Do. Do takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kim throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Do counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Do lands a jab to the nose. Do throws a hook but Kim avoids it easily. Kim blocks a jab. Soon Do is winning the standup battle so far. Do swings for the body but Kim moves out of range.
Do steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kim. Good shot there by Do. A good leg kick by Do. Kim fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Do.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kim, right into the meat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Do checks a leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kim.
Kim misses with a kick to the body.
Do takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kim moves in looking to clinch but Do pushes him off. Kim checks the leg kick nicely there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Do fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kim avoids it really well and circles away. Soon Do is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Do looks to throw the jab but Kim is out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Soon Do. Well Do has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Soon Do! After the fight, Soon Do was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
